Make a Clay Rabbit Bowl for Easter with PHS Art Class

Art Workshop–Clay Rabbit Bowl

Make your own Easter decoration! Wouldn’t a belly-up bunny that you made be the cutest to hold your Easter eggs or Easter candy? Join us on March 10, 2018 at Pelion High School to make yours!

Starting time for the clay hand building workshop (bunny bowls) is 10:00 a.m. The workshop will be held in room 324 (art room) of Pelion High School. Enter on Lydia Drive and instead of turning into the main office entrance of the school, continue straight and drive around to the left side of the building. Turn in front of the Advanced Agribusiness building and park in the lot. Enter the Agribusiness doors and immediately turn to the right. At end dead end, turn right again and the Art room, 324, will be the 1st door on the right.

To participate in the workshop, please complete the form below. The handbuilding bunny-bowl workshop cost is $10.00 per participant. Payment must be sent IN ADVANCE to Karen Gladden, Pelion High School, 600 Lydia Drive, Pelion, SC 29123. Checks should be made payable to PHS with Art club on the for line. Credit card payments may be made by phone (Stephanie Lever 803-821-2194). Cash payments must be paid in person BEFORE the day of the workshop.

Tips: Wear clothing that you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
Leave jewelry like watches, bracelets, and rings at home to avoid getting clay in them.
It is easier to work with clay with short fingernails.
Feel free to bring drinks and a snack for your group if desired, especially if you are staying for both workshops.

Workshops are recommended for children over 5. Parents will need to assist children under 10.

We will be working with a red clay body for this workshop and will glaze the bowls in a solid color. The photos below are similar to what we will be making.
