Eric Dowdy is in his ninth year of administration. He was a former assistant principal at Lugoff-Elgin High School and he is now in his sixth year at Pelion High. Prior to becoming an administrator, Mr. Dowdy was a teacher and coach for twelve years in Lexington School District One at White Knoll Middle and White Knoll High Schools.
Mr. Dowdy graduated from Furman University with a B.A. degree in Health and Exercise Science, where he played football for the Furman Paladins. Mr. Dowdy also holds a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Lesley University and a Masters of Educational Administration degree from the University of South Carolina. He is state certified in physical education and secondary administration.
Mr. Dowdy is extremely happy to be at Pelion High and back in Lexington School District One. He and his wife, Kerri (who also teaches in Lexington One) have three children: Kate, Michael, and Evan.
